Check a recipient statement date
Recipient furnishing and IRS filing are separate clocks.
Many recipient statements are due before the general electronic filing date. Build the mailing or electronic-furnishing process into the project plan instead of treating recipient copies as the final step after e-filing.

Recipient deadline FAQs
Are all 1099 recipient statements due January 31?
No. Several forms use different dates. Forms 1099-B, 1099-DA and 1099-S generally use the February 15 statement date, certain 1099-MISC statements do too, and several forms have their own special schedules.
Does filing Form 8809 extend recipient statements?
No. Form 8809 is for extensions of time to file information returns with the IRS. Recipient-statement extensions are requested separately using Form 15397.
What happens when a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday?
IRS general instructions provide that a filing or furnishing due date that falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or applicable legal holiday moves to the next business day.
Why does Form 1098-C show special timing?
Form 1098-C has donor acknowledgement timing linked to the contribution and, in some cases, the disposition of the donated vehicle. The transaction dates matter more than a single year-end statement date.
Should I rely only on this calculator?
No. Use it for scheduling, then confirm the form-specific instructions and current IRS calendar before furnishing statements.
